Our passion

For us, coffee is more than a product - it is a matter close to the heart. We believe that true enjoyment begins where quality and responsibility meet. Every cup of coffee that we create for you should not only inspire with your taste, but also through the story that she tells.

Our beans come from people who work with love and respect in harmony with nature. We choose partners who act fair and sustainably, because this is the only way to create a coffee that not only makes you happy, but also the people in the countries of origin. Fair trade and biological production are not marketing terms for us, but values that we live every day ...

The founding history

Through my Italian grandmother, my Nonna, I grew up with the culture of Italian coffee. At that time it was considered generally known that there is really good coffee only in Italy. By chance, two close friends of my father accepted this problem. In 1980 Arthur Schmed invented the fully automatic coffee machine and thus laid the foundation for the Saeco company. So I grew up in a coffee -savvy environment. Probably influenced by this, the magic that envelops the industry has captivated me since childhood. I dreamed of looking for coffee beans in the most remote regions in the world and refining them to my own roastery. At that time, a coffee roasting was out of the question, because without today's technical possibilities, such as the Internet and social media, as well as without capital, this dream seemed unreachable.

While my entrepreneurial excursions in the past 20 years, the IT and catering industry, the world has changed rapidly. This finally made it possible for me to start the magical world of coffee. I had sold my company with over 150 employees - and the foundation stone for my own coffee roaster was set.

Our values

For us, sustainability not only means ecological responsibility, but also social engagement. That is why we take care of the health of the coffee farmers and only buy Fairtrade in the countries of origin, with the promotion of biodynamic production. Especially in the case of smaller farms that do without labels for organizational reasons and in which we personally know the owners, we can influence and often pay over the usual Fairtrade remuneration. We finance our social commitment through deeper margins and fronkan work.
After all, it would not be our commitment if we would calculate it to our customers. And about that, we think you can think in peace ...

Coffee bags - a heart for animals

Raw coffee is traditionally packed in 60-kilogram juts bags. The empty coffee bags are coveted collector's pieces. Whether as decorative elements, plant wintering, creative craft ideas or as the basis for handmade bags etc. There are no limits to the imagination.
Instead of selling the sacks, we pass them on against a voluntary donation of at least CHF 5.00. Each CHF CHF is doubled by cafiosa and donated to non-profit animal welfare organizations.
