As a family -run roaster, it is particularly important to us to pass on our values ​​over generations. Because only through prudent action can our children and grandchildren still pursue our great passion, coffee. Therefore, sustainability is not anchored for us for us, but deeply anchored in our behavior. We are constantly working on optimizing our value chain in terms of environmentally technology and are committed to animal and nature conservation projects in the countries of origin.

CO2 emissions

Coffee production does not do without emissions. That is why we compensate for inevitable CO2 emissions through sensible climate protection projects. Biological production is above. Because, depending on the country and variety, biological cultivation saves up to 52% CO2 (source: Greenpeace). In addition, we largely avoid the coffee farms when traveling, as it would make up to 40% of the CO2 print of our roastery. We work closely with other roasters and farm owners and can carry our values ​​on site in this way - since these colleagues have to travel to the origin anyway or live there.

Our energy

We continue to optimize our roasting processes in order to be able to produce as resource -saving as possible. We obtain our electricity from 13 % solar energy and 87 % from hydropower. Through ongoing investments and optimizations, we can continuously lower the gas consumption per kilogram of roasted coffee.
