She was a cheerful, lively and helpful girl and was born towards the end of the 16th century as the daughter of Venetian market traders. Cafiosa was her everything. So her parents, Maria and Antonio, decided to settle in Venice to offer Cafiosa a good childhood and a good education. At this time, Venice was a glamorous and wealthy city characterized by magnificent architecture, flourishing trade and artistic creativity. She should one day have it better than herself, and so Cafiosa grew up carefree in the colorful lagoon city. No one had any idea back then what a special little girl Cafiosa was.
She often and gladly helped out at her parents' market stall, who ran a spice stand at the Mercato di Rialto, the most important market square in Venice at the time. She enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the traders selling their wares as well as the wonderful scents from the most remote countries in the world. She loved listening to the stories of traveling salesmen who told of their mysterious journeys on the Silk Road. Stories like those from the Arabian Nights, of distant lands, magical places and magical adventures.
When her mother, Maria, fell ill and all the herbs of the Orient and the loving care of Antonio and Cafiosa failed to help, her father was forced to sell her beloved market stall. Because the medicine of the famous Medicis of Venice was unaffordable for normal traders like them. However, Maria was against selling the market stall because she knew only too well that Antonio would need something to do without her in order not to succumb to melancholy. After all, her little girl needed her parents - at least one of them. And so it happened that in Antonio's darkest hour, a mysterious man with black hair, a thick beard and almost black eyes appeared. He made him an unusual offer. He has a cargo of magical beans in his ship that will change the world. But no one wants to believe him and no one wants to buy it from him. “Sell them for me and I will lend you the money you need for Maria’s medicine,” said the mysterious stranger.

Antonio was suspicious of the louder Intentions of the mysterious man. Because in Venice you heard the wildest stories about men from the Ottoman Empire, but what choice did he have? Driven by necessity, he agreed to the stranger, even though he had an uneasy feeling.
The mysterious merchant presented Antonio with a cart full of sacks of green, grass-smelling, dried beans. “Roast them in an iron cauldron over the fire and infuse them like medicinal herbs,” he said. But Antonio had to promise him one thing: the first roasting had to take place at night, after three more mornings.
Antonio ran and got the long-awaited medicine for his beloved Maria. Little Cafiosa, who hadn't left her mother's room for weeks, was waiting impatiently for her father. They had both placed all their hopes in this promising medicine from the great Medici. When Antonio returned, Cafiosa jumped on his neck and began giving her mother the medicine every day. She applied her calf wrap, patted her forehead, and moistened her lips. When the three mornings had passed, Maria finally seemed to be feeling a little better. Antonio remembered his promise and the stranger's words about the "magic beans." They are said to heighten the senses and bring people together so that they would chat and lose themselves in happy conviviality. “What a strange stranger, mysterious, inscrutable and yet of palpable goodness,” he mused…

It was the winter of 1592, a cold night in which snow covered the roofs of Venice and the soft light of the lanterns bathed the city in a fairytale glow. Antonio began to roast the strange beans. He followed the Ottoman stranger's instructions exactly, not knowing that this night would change everything - not only for him, but especially for his beloved daughter Cafiosa. As the intoxicating smell of freshly roasted beans filled the apartment, little Cafiosa came out of the hospital room and looked at her father in amazement... What was that mysterious smell? Accompanied by a delicate crackling of the beans? “Simply magical”, she thought, and in the midst of these thoughts a thousand little stars, as small as fireflies, lit up the room. A warm, golden light descended and slowly moved towards the hospital room, enveloping Maria in a soft, radiant glow. At that moment, Mary became the patron saint of Cafiosa. She had felt it for a long time, but now she understood it: the night was her destiny. She was filled with love and a deep knowledge that she would now be by her daughter's side forever.

But the miracle was not yet complete. When the star, Elyndor, crossed the orbit of Seraphis on this special night, the unimaginable happened: Cafiosa rose gently from the ground and Maria returned to the small apartment with a crowd of fairies. “You are destined for more,” Maria said in a voice that carried both love and wisdom. "Today you will receive the magic of the Coffee Fairy and will be able to live in both worlds - the magical fairy world and the human world. I am your guardian angel and I will look after you forever and stay connected to you."
Antonio was in tears when he saw the angelic figure of his Mary and the miracle of his daughter. A feeling of immense gratitude filled him. In that moment, he knew his family had found their calling. The magic of coffee would now linger forever in their lives, filling people with happiness and conviviality - and inseparably binding his beloved family together for all eternity.
From then on, Antonio and Cafiosa started selling their magical coffee at the market stall at the Rialto Bridge. Soon all of Venice was captivated by the unique bean, and the news of the magical coffee fairy and her heavenly beans spread throughout Europe and beyond. So the magic of coffee and the magic of Cafiosa became part of this world forever.
